The 2023 Corolla Hybrid, launched in China in May 2023, introduced the fifth-generation Toyota hybrid system that later Corollas still use: a 70 kW motor and lithium-ion battery alongside the 1.8 L 8ZR-FXE, for 101 kW combined — 11 kW more than the 2019–2022 cars. It returns 4.07 L/100 km on the WLTC cycle. The Elite trim adds a 10.25-inch touchscreen, LED headlights, power sunroof, front keyless entry and CarPlay, CarLife and HiCar phone mirroring. As a used car it is a sweet spot for many buyers: the newer hybrid system and equipment at a lower price than a 2024 or 2025 car, and usually only two to three years old at import.
